Move for health to benefit your body and brain

Share:

Today is Move for Health Day, an international event created in 2002 by the World Health Organization to promote physical activity. The aim is to get entire countries moving – literally – by encouraging participation in sporting events, and promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyles.

While the benefits of exercise are well-researched and often reported, there’s a growing body of research that finds it also improves cognitive function. To realize cognitive benefits, it’s recommended that people participate in both aerobic and resistance exercises at moderate intensities as many days of the week as possible.

So, if improving physical health wasn’t enough of a motivator, you can move to improve brain health too! What are you doing today and every day to get moving?
